Don't Just Capture Moments --

Live Them

what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

-Mary Oliver, 'The Summer Day'

Hi, I'm Stephanie--a mom, artist, and avid hiker in Maine, and that line from Mary Oliver's poem is one I ask myself regularly. The answer changes of course--but what doesn't change is how time moves on anyway, however we choose to spend it. And I hope you're here because you're spending time with the people closest to you--that you know how fleeting childhood is, that vacations always end too soon, and you don't realize just how important a moment is until later, when it becomes a story.

I'm a writer in addition to a photographer--and the overlap is all about being a storyteller. Taking pictures is about more than just freezing an image--it's about creating art that brings you back to the moment the image was captured. From the way the air smelled, to the chill of winter or the heat of a bright summer day. It's looking at a picture and hearing the shriek of your children's laughter no matter how old they are now. It's remembering the awe of seeing the ocean, feeling the joy from being with family, and tearing up all over again from the love that swelled the moment you exchanged your vows.

Whether you're just visiting Maine or you live here year round, send me a message, and let's tell your story!
